    •    Materials conservation.
    •    Analysis of the materials and techniques of artists’ materials in Australia and Southeast Asia.

    Key Areas of Research

    •    Analysis and characterisation of cultural materials and associated degradation mechanisms.
    •    Archaeological conservation: the development of analysis and assessment protocols for adhesives used on archaeological pottery.
    •    New and effective preservation techniques to prevent the deterioration and degradation of 20th century pigments, dyes, additives and media.
