Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, the University of Melbourne.
Qualifications
• Postdoctoral studies (1986–1988) the University of Melbourne on a National Heart Foundation Grant, and (1988-1991) Oxford University on a NH&MRC C.J. Martin Overseas Travelling Fellowship working with Dr Tom Cunnane.
• PhD (1986) the University of Melbourne.
Expertise
• Regulation of blood pressure, particularly the interaction of the renin-angiotensin system with the sympathetic nervous system.
Key Areas of Research
• Testing and development of dual action drugs that can block angiotensin AT1 receptors and have antioxidant activity.
• Novel membrane signalling mechanisms of oestradiol.
• Regulation of transient receptor potential ion activity.
