    Head of the Inflammation Unit at the Heart Research Institute in Sydney.

    Qualifications
    •    Postdoctoral Fellow (1997-2005) Heart Research Institute, Sydney working with Professor Mike Davies.
    •    PhD (1997) the Department of Chemistry, University of York U.K. working with Professor Mike Davies and Dr Adrian Whitwood.

    •    Free radical chemistry and biology, particularly the role of radicals in disease processes.

    •    Role of myeloperoxidase-derived oxidants in biological damage.
    •    Protein hydroperoxides and radical chain reactions in protein damage.
    •    Role of photo-oxidation in cellular damage and human disease.
    •    Determining mechanistic data for oxidation reactions in cellular systems.
    •    Reactions of thiocyanate-derived oxidants in atherosclerosis.
    •    Role of radical reactions in protein modification.
    •    Development of novel markers for radical damage in biological systems.
    •    Cellular consequences of DNA oxidation.
